Vintage Grand Piano Music Box Thorens Swiss Gold Gilt Piano with Keyboard Bakelite

Awesome gold gilt colored metal base with Bakelite yellowish/greenish top grand piano. Beautiful Art Deco detailing on the side of the music box body, the legs, and above the keyboard. The legs are securely attached as is the foot board attachment.

The top lid is Bakelite and is securely attached to the case at the hinges. The music box is in working order, there is an automatic stop for the tunes by lowering the lid.

There is scrolling on the top of the lid and a wreath wrapped around some lyrics. The metal case is intact. I see no cracks, splits, repairs, or missing pieces.

It does show some area's of gold painting worn off. This can be very easy to repaint if you prefer. The interior has a small section that can hold jewelry or other trinkets.

The keyboard is paper and intact. The Swiss Music Box is approx 4-9/16" tall, by 8-5/8" across, by 5.25 wide.

The music box works, the interior boards that make up the small empty space are loose, but fit together nicely and could be glued if desired. I think they are meant to be like this.

This is a vintage music box in the form of a grand piano. The piano features a Bakelite top with flourish details and a brass body with Art Deco style. Please remember that these items are previously loved itemswhich is part of their charm. They all have their own story to tell.
