Grateful Dead : Europe'72 : The Complete Recordings : Show # 2 (of 22) : April 8, 1972 (4/8/1972) - Wembley Empire Pool - London, England (ENG) UK : 3 CD : 2011 (1972/2011) Grateful Dead Productions, Inc. / Rhino (GDP / Rhino) : Brand New / Factory-Sealed!!

April 8th, 1972 (4/8/72) - Wembley!! Grateful Dead Fans who Love! That Good Ol' Grateful Dead sound... And at it's Finest!

Offered here indeed is' Show # 2' of the Tour Opening Stand! Grateful Dead Europe'72 Tour!!! - at the Wembley Empire Pool in London, England... And if Show # 1 was the Landing... As Show # 2 was definitely the Launch!!!!

I mean hey, only 20-more dates to go! Seven (7) Shows were played prior at the Academy of Music in New York City in Late-March (3/21-28/72), and if you have heard pieces, parts or all of that magnificent run - then you already know how " effective " that NYC run was as the ideal " Tour Warm-Up " for this Big-Time Europe'72 stretch that was right around the corner. Europe'72 kicked off Right-Here! - at the Wembley Empire Pool in London on both 4/7/72! To kick off the Fun...

And the Prime-Time-Era Grateful Dead Rock & Roll!!! And then - right after this, the Band performed at the " City Hall " at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, then to Copenhagen, Aarhus (Denmark), " back " to Copenhagen, to Bremen (Germany), to Dusseldorf W.

Germany , to Paris, to the Bickershaw Festival (Wigan, England). To Amsterdam, to Rotterdam, to France, to Luxembourg, to Munich...

And then back' again' to London for a final 4-night stand at the Lyceum! As I certainly hope that you might have been one of the very-fortunate ones that attended this incredible Europe'72 opening run of Shows - over 45-Years ago! This 4/8/72 Show (3-CD Set) Show offered here is so-Legendary!

All in it's own self... Just like Night # 1! Mostly in that these two Shows really Settled The Tone! For this Legendary 22-Show Europe'72 Tour. This was, after all' new-territory' for the Grateful Dead - in their 7th!

And my oh my did they Rise! The New York Academy of Music run prior, in March...

I mean just think about playing 22-Shows in European Venues that you have never played before, much less even been in? And, as this recording shows -- it didn't even matter at all! It actually worked in the' other' direction - by massively Inspiring!

And, all of this circumstantial' History' aside... This 2nd London Show (4/8/72) easily-equals, and maybe even surpasses the 4/7/72 Tour-Opener, the night prior - but, as always with the Good Ol' Grateful Dead...

A lot of that comes down to Your! Personal taste in set lists. Wow Boys, I mean save-some for the rest of the Tour? Bertha - Uncle - Charlie - Deal! Got this Show a rollin' real-big...

With Pig's Bluesy' Next Time You See Me' to follow - and then whammm... Right into the Cumberland Blues! Bobby's " Yellow Dog Story " is next - and then... CD 2 kicks off with a gusto-style!

Playin' - followed by Good Lovin'! Intricate playing, and high-energy everywhere as well... Just a real-nice set mix!

Right in-between the Looks Like Rain & Hurts Me Too sandwich >>> Casey Jones - Truckin' - Big Railroad Blues --- Yippie! See what I mean regarding how well the Band' mixes' things... Well, better just put on your seat belt - or, better yet...

For CD 3 - because here it is... >>> Dark Star > Sugar Magnolia > Caution > Saturday Night!!!!!!! What a Show, what a Night # 2...
